We want to let you know about a very happy event that happened for Ardmore Pottery earlier this month. We won Best Local Retailer at the Irish Made Awards at a special ceremony in Co.Kildare on the 5th of October. We were presented with the award by Mary Jo Hoyne, Head of Craft and Education at the Design & Crafts Council Ireland.

This was the first year that the Irish Made Awards in conjunction with Irish Country Magazine had a category for retailers. All the nominees across the categories - from Jewellery, Textiles, Home, Fashion, Gift & Sustainability are all creating products here in Ireland - the awards celebrate this abundance of innovation and creativity. 

In my acceptance speech, as the shop and workshop manager, I mentioned how Ardmore Pottery stocks over 150 Irish makers and artists. I also spoke about how my Mum, the potter Mary Lincoln along with my Dad built the business from the ground up for over forty years and have passionately championed Irish made all the way. My parents were away for the awards night itself but I was honoured to represent. 

So we are feeling a lot of love for what we do here. We are very thankful to all the makers and artists from around the country who send us their work. Nearly every county in Ireland is represented in our shop here.
