This minimalist bag in bright pink is made from leather by craftsman Frank Cullinane in Portlaw in Co. Waterford. It is designed to be worn over the shoulder or across the body with a strap that can be adjusted to different lengths.
Portlaw was always known as the tannery town here in Co.Waterford. Irish Tanners opened a factory there in 1935 and at one stage it is said that the tannery at Portlaw was the largest in Europe, employing over five hundred people and generations of local families. Frank worked at the Portlaw tannery as a younger man and following its closure in 1985 he set up his own company Feene Leathers.
